Falls from height are among the most common causes of serious work-related injuries and deaths in the workplace. This comprehensive fall protection training was developed to meet the highest standards for training in most Canadian jurisdictions using Canadian Standards Associations (CSA) Z259. Created by Energy Safety Canada this fall protection course is designed to give workers the understanding and hands on experience of working with fall protection equipment. Energy Safety Canada courses are widely recognized as the industry standard and accepted at all oil and gas work sites across Canada.

Intended for

Designed to educate the worker in the planning, use, care and implementation of common fall protection systems, it includes both theory and practical application exercises. Participants will engage in hands-on training activities, including inspecting, fitting, adjusting, and connecting fall protection systems and components.

Upon Completion

Upon successful completion of this course, assessment of practical skills, and achieving a passing grade of 70%,you will receive a Certificate of Completion that is valid for three years. Employers will be responsible for deeming employees competent.

Course Content

  • Review key Legislative requirements, due diligence and roles, and responsibilities
  • Identifying and assessing fall hazards, hierarchy of controls, and development of fall protection and safe work procedures
  • Types of fall arrest systems, equipment, components, connectors, and anchor points
  • The use, care, storage, maintenance and inspection of fall protection equipment, systems, and components
  • Fall protection system forces and clearance calculations
  • Harness- inspection, donning and doffing, and classifications
  • Identify components of the fall protection equipment, and its application
  • Fall protection plans
  • Effects of falls and pre and post fall rescue planning

Notes

Students must be on time and present for all course content instruction. Students who miss any course content cannot be certified and registration fees will not be reimbursed, as per the Cancellation Policy
