Confined Space work involves some of the most critical hazards in the workplace.

This course is developed using the Canadian Standards Association’s Z1006-16 Management of Work in Confined Spaces. This confined space course incorporates many industry best practices and is ultimately designed to exceed industry standards.

Intended for

Those who work in confined and restricted spaces in the province of Alberta, as the course is based on OH&S Legislation. Those responsible for entry, planning and supervising of confined space activities; and for those administrating employees and/or monitoring entry into restricted or confined spaces.

Upon Successful Completion

Upon successful completion of this program, participation in group activities, and a passing grade of 70% on the exam, you will receive a Certificate of Completion that is valid for 3 years.

Course Content

You will be knowledgeable and demonstrate proficiency in the following;

  • Introduction – Defining and identifying Confined Spaces
  • Confined Space Hazards – Atmospheric Hazards, Understanding Occupational Exposure Limits, Non-Atmospheric Hazards
  • Hazard Control – Hierarchy of Controls, Atmospheric Testing, Controlling Atmospheric Hazards, Controlling Non-Atmospheric Hazards
  • Code of Practice – Identifying Confined Spaces, Identifying hazards, and Creating a Code of Practice
  • Regional Code of Practice – Classification, Controls, Signage and Tags, Confined Space Monitoring

Students who do not complete the course cannot be certified and registration fees will not reimbursed, as per the Cancellation Policy
